Generation DITTO
On an Earth long abandoned by humans, evolution is still deciding which organisms will survive, and which will perish.
Generation DITTO is an interdisciplinary, interactive art project consisting of a dance performance and a “mockumentary” video. It originated from the wish to interpret ideas behind sci-fi entertainment through the medium of dance and the physical body.
The atmosphere of Generation DITTO is intended to encourage the spectator – of the life performance as well as of the mockumentary – to question the role of life in time, highlighting the relation between meaning and existence. The mockumentary offers a very special and somewhat extreme interpretation of reality through Iris’ eyes, the protagonist of the mockumentary.
The open-air performance Generation DITTO takes inspiration from the way scientific principles are used for entertainment purposes, introducing the audience to a scenario where two bodies become one, giving life to incredible and fantastic creatures.
The public performances take place on the 3rd and 4th of September, 2021, outdoors at the Neckarorte am Römerbad in Heidelberg Neuenheim / Ernst-Walz-Brücke. Start is 6.00pm. Admission free.

Generation DITTO - the dance performance
Generation DITTO - the mokumentary
The ever-present human quest to find meaning and connection gets exposed by Iris’ unique and extreme interpretation of the reality of the world she encounters.
Though her eyes, the audience will have the chance to reflect on the way they understand the world, and their place in it.
